Doors open at Persiaran KLCC
Ombak KLCC welcomed its first public visitors on Friday, 21 August 2026. The new mall sits at Plaza Ombak KLCC, 20 Persiaran KLCC — a short walk from the Petronas Twin Towers, with direct access to Persiaran KLCC MRT. Opening hours on day one were 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the same daily window the operator has posted going forward.
The building is still settling in. Around 120 retail units are planned across seven floors, and not every shutter was trading. What was open already had queues. What was not — including Malaysia’s first Nintendo and Pokémon Center pop-ups — had the fit-out and wall art in place for a 12 September start.
The atrium is the reason the mall is named Ombak. White, stacked floor plates curl around a glass roof, with glass-balustrade walkways and escalators cutting across the void. On day one the floors were busy but not packed — families, office workers from the KLCC precinct, and a lot of people stopping mid-walk to photograph the curves.
The rest of the KLCC shopping circuit was busy on the same Friday. Avenue-style malls around the towers still carried the usual weekday traffic while Ombak’s first visitors filtered in from Persiaran KLCC.
Coffee, then steamboat
ZUS Coffee on Level 2 was one of the busiest spots in the building. The L2 “ZUS Signature Coffee / Matcha” counter had a standing queue by mid-afternoon, with the seating terrace already full. If you are visiting for the architecture, this is a practical first stop — it sits on a curve of the atrium, so you can watch the floors above while you wait.
One floor up, JomAmigo Steamboat & Grill (L3-06) was staffed and taking walk-ins. The green frontage and “Hot Pot / Hot Vibes / Hot Memories” neon are hard to miss from the Level 3 concourse. It is a halal steamboat buffet — seafood, meats and house-made balls — and one of the clearer sit-down dinner options on opening day, when several F&B units were still dressing their counters.
Milolo, KPIX, and the Level 3 cluster
Level 3 is where Ombak feels most finished. Milolo (L3-17 & L3-18) opened with a hanging-garden canopy over a long blind-box counter. The DIY wall was the crowd-puller — visitors picking figures while a screen looped product video behind the till. The same floor’s “Milolo Gallery” pocket, with pink cylindrical displays and a hanging moon, sits in front of the tech stores.
Directly behind that gallery are Samsung (L3-05) and Xiaomi (L3-04) — both open, both demoing phones and tablets. A few units along the same concourse were still boxed up, which is the honest picture of day one: the headline tenants are trading; some neighbours are a week or two behind.
KPIX Studio (L3-10) is the Korean-style selfie studio on the same level. Two rooms were advertised on the day — “Vintage High Angle” and “Vintage Front Angle” — with a red photo-room interior visible from the mall. Staff were taking walk-ins. If you want a printed strip from opening week, this is the place.
Nintendo and Pokémon: painted, not open yet
The unit everyone asked about was not selling merch on day one. The Nintendo pop-up store (L3-11 & L3-16) already has the red wall, the oval logo, and the “POP-UP STORE in KUALA LUMPUR” line in place — but the shelves were empty and a stanchion still blocked the door. That matches the official window: the Nintendo pop-up and Malaysia’s first Pokémon Center Pop-Up Store run from 12 September to 31 December 2026.
The Pokémon wall is already painted. A full-width mural of Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Totodile and friends now runs along the Level 3 corridor — balloons, confetti, and the classic Pokémon tile pattern. It is worth a photo stop now; the shop behind it opens with the Nintendo unit in September.

- Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily.

- Transit: Persiaran KLCC MRT is the closest station; Suria KLCC and KLCC Park are a short walk.

- Eat first: ZUS on L2, then JomAmigo on L3 if you want a proper meal.
- Shop first: Level 3 — Milolo, KPIX, Samsung, Xiaomi.
