Kuala Lumpur is the first Asian city on The Pokémon Company’s 30th-anniversary PokéXciting! tour. The park party is 12–13 September 2026 in KLCC Park, next to Ombak — not inside the mall. The same weekend, Ombak KLCC’s Nintendo pop-up store and Malaysia’s first Pokémon Center pop-up begin a run through 31 December.
The 16 June 2026 Kuala Lumpur press conference, with The Pokémon Company, Niantic, Nintendo and KLCC Holdings, is the source for the dates. Admission to the park event is free. The headline production is Malaysia’s first Pokémon drone show — 3D formations over the park at night. Stage entertainment includes a tour Pikachu in a city-specific turquoise costume, plus a Pokémon GO tie-in. Further entry rules, stage times and whether any zone will be ticketed later have not been published; use the official page closer to the weekend.
The stores at Ombak
The Nintendo pop-up is official merch from Nintendo lines, including Japan-available items and Mario-family exclusives for this run. The Pokémon Center pop-up is the first in Malaysia: Pokémon Center Original goods, cards, plush, 30th-anniversary lines, and a Nintendo collaboration play booth. Both are at Ombak KLCC from 12 September to the end of December. Opening-day photos from 21 August already showed the Nintendo red-wall unit on Level 3 being fitted; they were not selling yet.
If the pop-ups are the reason you are coming, do not use the 21 August mall opening as your date. Wait for 12 September. Expect queues; crowd-control details are still “to be announced.”
Later: Pokémon RUN 30
A separate Pokémon RUN 30 Malaysia Edition is dated 21–22 November 2026. Venue and start time were still TBA at the June briefing. Festival Zone access was described as free for non-runners; the run itself is a registered event with a UNIQLO-sponsored kit. That is not an Ombak mall event — do not mix it up with the pop-up stores.
