After Merdeka weekend and before the Pokémon stores have been open a week, Ombak’s concourse switches to green tea. Matcha Walk is listed on the mall’s experience calendar for 16–20 September 2026 — five days, 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Concourse Level.
Organisers and local listings have called it KL’s first matcha festival: matcha drinks, cakes, and a handful of workshops rather than a generic dessert bazaar. Entry is advertised as free. You pay per cup. A full public vendor directory has not been locked in the way Pesta Kopi’s 40-roaster claim was; @matchawalk.my is the account to watch for the stall list in early September.
When to go
The festival sits four days after the Nintendo and Pokémon Center pop-ups open (12 September) and two days after PokéXciting! weekend in KLCC Park. If you are already in the precinct for those, 16–17 September (Wednesday–Thursday) should be quieter than the weekend close on 19–20 September. Midday start means you can do Galeri PETRONAS or the pop-up stores in the morning and drop to concourse after 12.
This is not Pesta Kopi’s rooftop. It is downstairs, air-conditioned, and aimed at people who will queue for a whisked bowl. Heat is not the constraint; concourse circulation on a school-holiday-adjacent week might be.
